What's Chewing!? Cold mornings and tog on my mind. They say if you think like a tog you catch more tog.
We have all heard the saying where there's one there is more. That is often the case when blackfishing. If you drop a crab and you get "life", "Knock at the Door", " A Customer" you know you are in the right spot. If you drop a crab and get no answer move to a new spot. Like I said where there is one there is more. Yes the bite can get better as the tide starts moving, often times if you are simply in the right spot you can find pretty consistent action.
Most of the by catch like scup and seabass have moved to deeper water making it a bit easier to just target tog. We still have been getting reports of weakfish and small cod being caught.
I wish I could say the beach fishing has been great but it has not been producing or showing much signs of life. I have been looking back in my log book and have many blitzes logged this upcoming week. Fingers crossed it starts coming together. Otherwise the breachways have been consistent with bass being caught in the evening, night, and morning. Customers are catching inside on soft plastics and bucktails, as well as live eels. Off the point swimming plugs as well as surface lures are producing. Many healthy fish in the 20 lb class were taken this week. A few bluefish around but not crazy numbers.
A few rumors of albies cruising around this week around green hill otherwise not much to report on them.
The ponds are loaded with 4 inch peanut bunker right now. Looking forward to there mass exodus, just not sure on there timing quite yet, the ponds are still relatively warm.
