Always tough to know when the peak of the fall run is until it is over. With warm weather it makes me hopeful the the fall run is more like a walk and we have a lot more fish to come. However you really don't know. Continuing to put your time in can pay off this time of year. If not, at least its a nice walk or boat ride during a very fair weather fall.
Bluefish and bass continue to be caught primarily from the jetties and structure points along the south Shore. Shad, rain bait, and sand eels have filled the inlets this past week. The bite continues to be good at night with an occasional 20lb and up fish.
Back in the pond fishing has been great with most fish being caught on top water and swim shads. Take a lot of casts and cover ground, that has been the way to get it done.
Tog fishing out front has been great. Sunday looks like a really nice day to get out. There still are some scup and seabass around who are also happy to take a half a crab.
Reports of Bonita continue to come in and we are still hopeful that a couple of albies will wander in, its still not to late for them to show up with water temps being still in the low 60's.
