The season is slowly coming to a close here in Rhode Island. Yes you can chase holdovers all winter, maybe try your luck at winder flounder and see what our state has to offer on the fresh water side of things.
This week bass were still being caught off the beach and in the back of the ponds. The numbers are way down and it seems that most fish are schoolies. Still fun and can be plentiful in the beach wash. Using a bucktail with a teaser above it is one of our favorite rigs to use this time of year.
We heard of some exciting tuna opportunity's this week very close to block ,neat to hear of them still in the water and feeding aggressively. Boats that are able to sneak out still continue to find some tautog and cod.
Most of us have packed the boat away and maybe will get in a couple last casts on the beach before we retire on the season and wait for spring and tight lines to return.
We appreciate everyone that has stopped by the shop this year. Its your support that keeps us going. From sharing stories, grabbing some bait, tackle, propane, ice and rigs. Everyone is valued.
